VFW Rodeo commemorative belt buckle

Wimberley’s VFW Post 6441 has commissioned a special locally designed and crafted, collectable belt buckle to commemorate its 75th Independence Day Rodeo.

The jewelry-quality buckle trimmed in gold with a black background celebrates the 75 years that the rodeo has been held since the first event in 1946.Because of the coronavirus pandemic, there was no rodeo last year.

Attendees will be able to purchase the buckle at the rodeo, July 2, 3 and 4 at the VFW rodeo grounds on Jacobs Well Road. The price for the limited-edition buckle is $150.

VFW Auxiliary president Jennifer Bravo submitted the winning design for the buckle in a contest held last year, when the 75th rodeo was originally scheduled. When that rodeo was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 rodeo became the 75th annual rodeo. The buckle is produced by local craftsmen.

Additional rodeo details will be featured in the Wimberley View in the weeks leading up to the event. For information, visit www.texasvfw.net.
