VFW Post to host third annual open house for area veterans
Wimberley’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6441 will host a Veterans Day open house for area veterans on Saturday, November 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Representatives from veteran service organizations will be available to help attendees with information and application assistance for various veteran programs and benefits. A lunch will be provided for free for veterans and their families. Those who wish to show their support for these veterans may join the lunch for a minimum donation to help offset the cost of the event.
The lunch will include smoked brisket, pork loin, sausage, chicken legs and several sides. There will entertainment for children and live music by Soldier Songs and Voices, a San Marcos group of aspiring singers and songwriters who happen to be veterans.
This will be the third annual Veterans Day open house held at the post. The 2018 event drew nearly 300 veterans and their families and supporters.
