Urging council to vote for Aqua Texas

We’ve all heard stories that Wimberley has been trying to get a sewer system downtown for 30 or 40 years, that many councils and committees have worked but failed to come to agreement, that costs have accelerated over the years and the creek is in danger. That’s called HISTORY.

What is important is Wimberley’s FUTURE. Our Mayor has reviewed the wastewater plan under construction to determine if the current plan allows for a sound financial and environmental future for Wimberley. The findings say NO, but also show a way to provide wastewater treatment at a lower cost while meeting the goals of the previous plan. And, importantly, by making changes now we can also forever prevent discharge into the Blanco river from a treatment plant located in Blue Hole Park.

I urge you all to vote YES to Wimberley becoming an Aqua wholesale customer. Vote yes to NO DISCHARGE. Vote yes to city control of the CCN. Vote yes to cost savings for users and to overall savings in the millions by not building a plant requiring costly management, maintenance and repair. Those are forever savings that will allow our city a more sound financial future.
