Two more COVID-19 deaths in the Wimberley Valley

Two more COVID-19 related fatalities have been reported from the Wimberley area bringing the total to six deaths from the disease in the Wimberley Valley.

The two local deaths reported on January 4 were a man and a woman in their 80s.

Hays County has now reported 133 Covid-19 related fatalities.

As of January 4, there were 36 Hays County residents currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Overall, 565 have been hospitalized.

There are 2,437 active cases reported in the last 21 days in Hays County. That number has continued to rise over the last few months. Last week there were 2,048 active cases reported in the previous 21 days.

There have been 352 lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Wimberley Valley. Of those, two have been within the city limits of Woodcreek. There are currently 85 active cases in the Wimberley Valley, none of which are in the city limits of Woodcreek. There were 54 active cases in the Wimberley Valley on December 28 and 35 on December 21.

Hays County reports a total of 10,958 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 9,088 considered recovered. There are 1737 cases currently counted as active.
