Turkey’s on 12 raises money for Crisis Bread Basket

Crisis Bread Basket and Ozona Bank teamed up for the 19th consecutive year last Tuesday and Wednesday for the Turkeys on 12 fundraiser.

Volunteers dressed up in their best Turkey costume as they stood and asked for donations in front of Ozona Bank at the corner of Ranch Road 12 and River Road.

Ozona will also match up to $5,000 worth of community donations as well as giving Crisis Bread Basket their time slot on Wimberley Valley Radio.

Crisis Bread Basket is an organization started in 1986 whose goal is to feed families who have fallen on hard times no matter the circumstances with their mission statement being “Neighbors helping neighbors by providing food and encouragement.” Crisis Bread Basket distributes food twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday.

To register with Crisis Bread Basket, you are required to live in the Wimberley area or have a child registered in the Wimberley ISD School district.

To donate, visit Ozona Bank, the Crisis Bread Basket Food Pantry or visit their website at www.crisisbreadbasket.com.
