Trail of Lights now open
For over 20 years, the EmilyAnn Trail of Lights has been delighting children of all ages from here and visitors from all over. When people hear of the Trail, it’s so wonderful that they have to see for themselves.
Saturday was the big day, the opening of the Trail, and as always it was fun for everyone that attended. People start to gather 15 minutes before the arrival of Santa, who as always was on the back of the Wimberley Fire Truck.
The excitement waiting for Santa never fails. Both adults and children’s eyes light up the moment the fire truck turns the corner and the jolly old elf can be seen waving to the crowd..
This year Anna and Elsa from “Frozen 1” and “Frozen 2” were also on hand to greet visitors, and they sang a few songs before the traditional lighting of the tree on top of the hill. Then it was down the hill to see the exhibits decorated by more than 100 local businesses, community groups and families.
Alias Newman’s music entertained the crowd and of course there were marshmallows to roast over an open fire and other traditional Christmas treats available. It is one of those traditions that keep this area awash in small town charm and color. And each year it is grander and grander.
