Street Dance raise money for Wimberley
Money was flying at the bi-annual Wimberley Ace Street Dance as non-profits throughout the community made the most of the large gathering.
Organizers said that this may have been the largest of the seven street dances held yet, and thousands of dollars were raised and donated.
Ace Hardware announced a $10,000 donation from the community to Wimberley Youth Sports Association. The company allows customers to “round up” their purchase at check out to donate the left over cents to a local charity.
The event also held a raffle that raised $1,300 for the Wimberley Special Olympics team. The Special Olympics also raised $1,000 by selling tickets to the bounce house and a yet-unknown amount of money from t-shirt sales. WHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes, WJHS Cheerleaders and local Girl Scouts also raised money through booths at the event.
