Second-to-last Market Day of the season to take place this weekend

On Saturday, Nov. 4, Wimberley Market Day will see acres of festive sights, pleasing scents of soaps, flowers and barbeque and melodic sounds from Central Texas talent, all to usher in the upcoming holiday season.

Reflecting on last month’s Market Day, Wimberley Lions Club President, Frank Curtis, said, “Considering the great number of people who came to Market Day in the perfect October weather, things went smoothly. There were vendors in over 443 booths, this is 91% of all the available booths.”

“Market Day has become so popular that we are getting so many people who want to enjoy all that Market Day offers, vendors’ goods, food, drink, music, and great people-watching,” he continued. “I’m sorry that we have no way of knowing how many people are attending. Maybe someday we’ll have a way to count the number of folks that come.” Last month’s market was at least popular enough to sell out of its barbecue brisket.

Curtis noted that some of Saturday’s shoppers arrived by bus from Sun City in Georgetown.

Live music starts at 11 a.m. until about 1 p.m. By popular demand, the Elliott Rogers Trio headlines the Pavilion stage. From Austin, Rosedale plays at the Shady Grove stage. And, life-long Wimberley resident Bo Moore plays at the Hilltop stage.

shine. November’s shopping hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lions Field is located off FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. The $5 donation accepted at the Lions Club’s parking lots helps to fund the various grants and scholarships distributed by the Wimberley Lions Club.
