Recount requested in race between Hall and Shell

The votes are in and Lon Shell won the County Commissioner Precinct 3 race by 37 total votes out of more than 20,000. But, his competitor in the race has asked for a recount.

Jimmy Alan Hall requested a recount and was officially granted one on Monday. The county plans to begin the process of recounting the votes on November 26. No time table has been announced for how long the recount will take. In the mean time, Shell will remain the County Commissioner.

Hall said that if the recount does not turn out in his favor, he plans on contesting the election based on “voting irregularities.”
