Ready, Set, Summer! at Camp Young Judaea

The city of Woodcreek and Camp Young Judaea are co-sponsors of a community get-together on May 5 at the camp, which is in Woodcreek.

All residents of Woodcreek and Woodcreek North have been invited to the event, which is from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Camp Young Judaea. It’s called “Ready, Set, Summer!”

Along with live music, the event will feature free food and beverages and a chance for the Woodcreek communities to tour the camp and also enjoy what it has to offer, including swimming.

The idea is for neighbors to meet and greet neighbors and make new friends, according to Cyndi Jackson, Woodcreek City Council member. Invitees are limited to residents of Woodcreek and Woodcreek North, she said.

“Since 1952, CYJ has enriched the lives of thousands of Jewish kids and has been building the next generation of leaders by giving them a fun, inclusive, challenging and safe summer camp experience, where kids develop lifelong friendships,” said Danny Ross, director of operations at the camp. “CYJ is very excited to welcome our neighbors from Woodcreek and Woodcreek North to come and see our facility, meet our staff and enjoy an afternoon of swimming, games, and great food. Facility tours will be available and our hope is to continue to foster a positive relationship with the community by hosting this family friendly event.”

The camp is located off Dolittle Drive in the west part of Woodcreek.
