PIPELINE DELAYED

Construction of the Permian Highway Pipeline that is proposed to cross the Wimberley Valley has been delayed a few months, according to CEO Steven Kean.

Kean hosted a quarterly conference call with investors last week and stated that the new construction time line will push back the expected completion of the project from the fourth quarter of 2020 to the early part of 2021.

According to naturalgasintel.com, Kean told investors that the company has obtained 85 percent of the necessary right of way for the pipeline but the regulatory process has “progressed a little more slowly than what (the) project plan contemplated.”

The report did not detail when the company plans to start construction.

The delay comes on the heels of the city of San Marcos joining a lawsuit with cities of Kyle and Austin, the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer Conservation District, the Wimberley Valley Watershed Association and the Texas Real Estate Advocacy and Defense Coalition The lawsuit is against potential regulatory agencies stating that the pipeline would violate the Endangered Species Act and other federal laws.
