One show for 25 years at EmilyAnn

After a two-year COVID break, summer musicals at EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens have returned with 2022 being the 25th anniversary of its first musical production, “Star of the Hills,” which ran for three years.

Since then, EmilyAnn has brought the community a broad offering of musicals with its annual summer show.

This year’s production, “Silver Linings-A Musical Jubilee”, is a celebration of some of those musicals. Besides “Star of the Hills”, the program includes snippets of musicals that the theater loves for the future.

The lineup includes Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, Into the Woods, My Fair Lady, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat with the plays being split up into two acts with a brief intermission along with refreshments.

This year also featured the students from the Kids’ Camp that has recently concluded. They perform Ain’t We Got Fun, Hound Dog and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band in an enthusiastic manner.

Silver Linings is being dedicated to the memory of Dr. Dorothy (Dorey) Schmidt, a long time friend and supporter of EmilyAnn Theater.

The musical series will conclude with shows June 30, July 1 and July 2 at 7:30 p.m. and July 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at emilyann.org.
