New Wimberley council sworn in
The city of Wimberley recently swore in a new city council that is rather similar to the council before it. Only one placard on the city’s dais changed.
Place 5 Councilmember Bo Bowman did not run for re-election and served his last day on the council early in May. David Cohen was sworn in to replace Bowman for a two-year term.
Place 1 Councilmember Rebecca Minnick and Place 3 Councilmember Christine Byrne were each sworn in for a second two-year term.
There was no election this year, because there were no challengers. This is the second year in a row the city has been able to cancel the election because no challengers filed to run.
The city has already posted notice of the 2022 election on the city’s website. There will be three positions up for election including spots held by Mayor Gina Fulkerson and council members Teresa Shell and Jim Chiles.
2022 Election
