A Market Day outing before Easter

Saturday, April 3, is the next Wimberley Market Day. Now that Spring has sprung, the day before Easter Sunday promises to be as successful as the March 6 event. On that particular Saturday, mother and daughter, Sheryl and Sarah Simmons drove from Belton, Texas, just to join the many visitors at Lions Field.

Commenting on her shopping experience, Sarah said, “I heard about Wimberley Market Days through a friend. March 6th was my first experience. It was so much fun! I was very impressed by its size and number of vendors within the Market, so many gems and people ready to make a deal. My favorite part was the excitement around me. It was a great way to get outside and enjoy a beautiful day while picking up some unique items along the way. I would absolutely return. I loved the antiques and fixer-upper items found within the market, as well as the vendors’ willingness to negotiate.”

Her mom said, “I heard about Market Day from my daughter, who is attending school in San Marcos.” The first Market Day of 2021 was Sheryl’s first, too. “Mom” said, “It was a very enjoyable experience!” Pointing out several of her favorite aspects about the open-air market, she listed, “Friendly vendors, extremely clean venue, easy access parking.” She added, “I enjoyed that it was outdoors with good walk paths. The vendor selection between new and used items was a good mix. I’m always looking for good finds to re-purpose! I plan on coming again soon. My daughter-in-law and I are already planning a visit. It will be her first time! I’m looking forward to coming when there is music and more food vendors are open.”

The great news is that, in April, live music is back on each of the 3 stages, beginning round 11:00 a.m.! Little Beverley and the Shades headlines at the Pavilion stage. Cheyenne Saenz plays the Shady Grove stage. And, Lance Lipinski plays at the Hill Top stage.

Wimberley Lions Club Market Days happens on the first Saturday of each month, March through December, rain or shine. April shopping hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Find this festive marketplace at Lions Field, off FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. Look for the feathery banners, signs, and Leos for directions to the Lions Club parking lots. The second lot is located on the left side of FM 2325, past the car wash.
