Lost Austin Band to perform at Susanna’s Kitchen

The Lost Austin Band, made up of members Ernie Gammage, Bill Browder, Dave Moerbe, Patterson Barrett and Craig D. Hillis, performs at Susanna’s Kitchen Coffeehouse on April 18 at 7:30 p.m.

According to Austin Sayer, Texas Music Documentarian, “It doesn’t get any better than the Lost Austin Band.”

“Call it what you will, “progressive country,” “redneck rock,” “outlaw country,” it all comes down to the music now called “Americana.” Take the best songs by the classic Texas songwriters like Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Michael Murphey, Rusty Wier, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Willis Alan Ramsey and B.W. Stevenson, spice them up with Austin’s finest musicians and songwriters and you get the Lost Austin Band. It was hot then; it’s hot now. All members of the Texas Music Legends Hall of Fame, Ernie Gammage, Bill Browder, Dave Moerbe, Patterson Barrett, and Craig D. Hillis return to their musical roots as The Lost Austin Band with the songs and stories that created this special time in Texas’s musical history, the essence of “Cosmic Austin,” said Sayer.

“If you want to know why Austin is so special and hear the music responsible for creating the very culture that made Austin “Austin,” then get yourself to one of their shows,” he continued. “It doesn’t get any better than the Lost Austin Band.”

The performance is part of Susanna’s Kitchen coffeehouse concert series at the Wimberley United Methodist Church, corner of RR 12 and CR 1492. Doors open at 7 and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for kids. Tamales, pizza, pie, coffee and soft drinks are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit The Barnabas Connection, Bright Beginnings Preschool scholarships and other nonprofits.
