It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

All over Wimberley, the turkey and pumpkins have been stowed to make way for the glittering lights and ornaments of Christmas, Hanukkah and the other holiday observances and rituals of the season. Gone are the autumn leaves from the Cypress Creek bridge and in their place are the holly and wreaths depicting the winter celebrations ahead. Businesses around the square and in the Quarter Shops are hanging lights, decking columns and creating vignettes to get customers into the holiday spirit.

Winter’s Eve, with its shopping, food, music, and fun activities for kids of all ages unwraps this weekend with Santa leading a parade on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to collect unwrapped toys for The Christmas Store at the Barnabas Connection.

Pancake Breakfasts are on the horizon, as are holiday performances by the Wimberley Players, the Community Chorus and the Starlight Symphony.

Emily Ann’s Trail of Lights beckons with eight miles of exhibits, musical performances on most nights, train rides, and, best of all, evidence that Santa is in the area.

Wimberley participates in another ritual of the season - giving back. Support for members of the community who need a boost abounds as Wimberley shares her good fortune with others.
