Free Diabetes and Vision Screenings at Brookshire

On Saturday, April 13, the Wimberley Lions Club will conduct free diabetes and SPOT Vision screenings in the Brookshire Brothers parking lot from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors. A Spanish-speaking volunteer will be present.

Lion Judy Walker explained that the event is hosted in partnership with Brookshire Brothers and the Texas State Medical Explorers. She said, “The screening is part of an initiative launched by Lions Club International to improve the overall quality of life through the early detection of diabetes.”

Walker said, “A free vision screening will be offered by certified members of the Wimberley Lions Club at the same time. Screenings are done throughout the year in the Wimberley schools and preschools to detect early vision problems.” The SPOT Vision screening is open to all ages, including Infants as young as six months old.
