Fourth of July parade takes over downtown Wimberley

The annual Independence Day Parade closed down RR 12 last week, taking over the main thoroughfare for the morning of July 4.

The parade, hosted by the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce, saw hundreds of participants from all corners of the Wimberley Valley — from both Wimberley and Woodcreek. Both city governments put together floats of their own for the occasion, alongside Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and the local fire department, among others.

The patriotic spirit was palpable up and down the street as friends and families gathered to watch the parade. From vintage cars to Jeeps to a trolley, each “float” brought the American spirit — all in competition for the annual awards.
