Alzheimer’s Caregiver Meeting

The Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group will meet on Thursday, October 7th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church Library, 956 FM 2325, Wimberley. This is an opportunity for caregivers to meet together, ask questions and share information with other caregivers who are traveling this same journey. Wings Over Wimberley

Rescheduled from last weekend, Wings Over Wimberley is the place to be Friday, October 8, 4 pm-9 pm and Saturday, October 9, 11 am-9 pm in the Ozona Bank parking lot by Cypress Creek. Sip Middleton’s Gone Batty Dark IPA and enjoy food authentic falafel and Cajun food, tacos and shaved ice. Stroll and enjoy fabulous art and craft vendors and a half dozen live bands. Hill County Big Band

On Saturday, October 9, 2:00 p.m., the Hill Country Community Band will present another great, free concert at the First Baptist Church in Wimberley.

Wimberley Metaphysical and Holistic Fair

On Saturday, October 9, the Metaphysical and Holsitic Fair will be hosted at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center. Admission is free. Thre will be lectures throughout the day.

Harvest Moon Dinner & Dance

The Harvest Moon Dinner and Dance is a fundraiser for the Wimberley Valley Museum. It will be held on October 10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Catering by Old 300 BBQ. Music by Eric Hokkanen and Friends. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at wimwic.org.

Mystery Dinner for Civic Club

Untangle a web of murder and intrigue over an Italian-themed dinner at Vintage Oaks Farm in Driftwood. A special event hosted by the Wimberley Civic Club, on October 14. Tickets are $65. For more information call 512 595-2059.

Wimberley Masonic Lodge Sporting Clays Benefit

The Wimberley Masonic Lodge will host the first annual Sporting Clays Benefit on October 16 at Hog Heaven in Dripping Springs. For more information, call (512)842-7141.

Herb Society Meeting

The October meeting of the Herb Society will be held on Oct. 20 at the Presbyterian Church. Refreshments at 9:30 a.m. with the program “Spice Mixtures of the World” to follow at 10:00 AM. Visitors are welcome.

Hunters Night Out

The 18th Annual Hunters Night Out will be held on Saturday October 23. The event occurs at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Hunters Night Out is St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus’ major fundraiser of the year. The money raised at this event stays in Wimberley to help local charities, religious organizations, and the Marvin Joseph Memorial Scholarship Fund. Ribbon Cutting at Martha Knies Community Park

On Sunday, October 24, at 2 p.m. there will be a ribbon cutting at Martha Knies Community Park. Join us to honor Martha’s legacy at this inspiring park created by our community.

The Wimberley Civic Club will host the Home Tour on October 29 & 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information visit wimberleyccc.org.

Daughters of the American Revolution

Jacob’s Well Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, meets at the Emily Ann Theater in Wimberley on November 8 at 9:40 am for chat time and 10 am for our business meeting. For more information, please go to [email protected].

Birds and Brew

Are you an aspiring birder who wants to learn more about birds? Join Blue Hole Regional Park as they go on a bird outing through Blue Hole searching for feathered friends with aviary biologists from SWCA Environmental Consultants. The group will meet in the swimming area parking lot for coffee and conversation before the outing. Bring your own reusable mug or use the cups we provide. Kid-friendly binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Birds and Brew will be held on November 13 at Blue Hole at 8 a.m. and runs until 9:30 a.m.

Wimberley Area Cancer Support Group

If you have experienced the diagnosis of cancer now or in the past, we invite you to meet with the Cancer Support Group, sponsored by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, to talk and relax with others who share your experiences. Meetings are in the Chamber of Commerce members’ room, 11:30 AM - 1 PM on the second Wednesday of the month.

Wimberley Valley Museum

There are new hours for the Winters-Wimberley House/Wimberley Valley Museum. It will be open on the first weekend of month (Market Days Weekend) with docents Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. starting June 4 and 5.
