Free Family Fun Day at Jacob’s Well

Do you know your central Texas wildlife? Come find out more about our wildlife neighbors on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 from 12pm-2pm. Games, activities, and a guided hike. Guided Hike will begin at 1:45 p.m. No tickets necessary to participate. This event is FREE to the public. Meet at the Jacob’s Well Natural Area Nature Center – park in Parking Lot C for this event. (Lots A & B will be used for overflow) Event will be held rain or shine. In the event of bad weather, the activities will be held indoors. Be sure to bring water and good walking shoes.

Texas Dance Hall Film at Mercer Street Dance Hall

The award-winning feature documentary Dance Hall Days will have its Wimberley Valley premiere on Sunday, Jan 5th at 6pm / Doors at 5pm at Mercer Street Dance Hall More than just a history of dancehalls, the film is a look into the organizations and the people — featuring Texas dance hall legend Steve Dean -- who strive to keep these institutions alive, most which have been open for over a century. Join us on an iconic ride from Blanco’s Twin Sisters to Shiner’s Weid Hall to Temple’s Sefcik Hall and many, many others in between! Sunday Concert Series at Old Glory

Wimberley Garden Club Meeting

Make 2020 the year you transform your landscape with tough, beautiful plants that thrive in our Hill Country environment! Master Gardener Marilyn Lowe will show you how at the Wimberley Garden Club’s meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 101 W. Spoke Hill. The Texas Superstar ® program identifies specific plants that have been proven to thrive in our Texas heat. They provide stunning color and beauty while requiring minimal care or reliance on chemical post-control. Come ready to learn how to save money, identify these Texas Superstar ® plants, find ways to use them in your landscape, and care for them just enough to help them flourish and reward you with their beauty. Breakfast goodies are served at 9:30 a.m., and the program starts at 10. The club meets the second Wednesday of each month September to May, and guests and prospective members are always welcomed.

Hill Country Wellness Reset 2020

Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming Hill Country Wellness Reset (HCWR), taking place January 31st - February 1st, 2020 at Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley, TX. The price is $200 and will include two full days of workshops, keynote speakers, vendor exhibits and so much more. Participants will also have the chance to enjoy all the beauty Old Glory Ranch has to offer. Wimberley Valley Museum Hours

Go visit the Wimberley Valley Museum during the new hours of operation on Friday’s from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Museum is located at The Winters-Wimberley House, 14068 Ranch Road 12, in Front of the Wimberley Community Center. This Museum tells the History of the Wimberley Valley through stories, photos and artifacts. More information can be found at www.wimwic.org.

Wimberley Quilt Guild

The Wimberley Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. (except June and December) in the Wimberley Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to attend and hopefully join our group of quilters.

Every month, around a dozen local galleries stay open late and welcome people to come early, stay late for wine and enjoy the light bites and an art-filled evening.
