Civic Club Home Tour

The Wimberley Community Civic Club will host he annual Home Tour this weekend. The Kick-off Party will be held on: Thursday, Nov. 7, 5:00 pm. Tickets are available at wimberleyccc.org. The Home Tour will be: Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Pick up party ticket, map of homes and wristband at the Wimberley Visitor Center. Tickets for the Home Tour are $20 and may be purchased at the Wimberley Visitor Center, 14100 Ranch Road 12, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. You may also reserve your tickets online at www.wimberleyccc.org.

St. Mary’s Annual Garage Sale

St. Mary Catholic Church in Wimberley will hold their annual garage sale in the parish hall on Thursday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 10. The garage sale will open with an Early Bird Sale on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with an admittance fee of $6. The Regular Sale will begin on Friday, Nov. 8, from 9:00 am until 6:30 pm, continuing on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9:00 until 4:00 pm and on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. There is no admittance fee for the Regular Sale times. Sunday will be Bag Sale Day at which time shoppers can purchase all that fits into a brown grocery bag for $5. All proceeds benefit the church. St. Mary Church is located at 14711 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley.

Acoustic Table featuring Courtney Patton & Jason Eady

Prima Vista Events will host Courtney Patton and Jason Eady on November 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $65 per ticket. There will be appetizer, dinner, dessert and the acoustic concert included in the ticket price. Complimentary beverages provided. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a signed acoustic guitar by the evening’s featured artist. All proceeds from raffle benefiting Wimberley Valley Radio - KWVH 94.1. Heart of Texas Genealogical Society meeting

Heart of Texas Genealogy Society will meet on November 7, 2019 at the Wimberley Village Library. Dr. Gayle Hudgens, Ph.D. will do a presentation called “DNA -- The Secret Gift of our Ancestors” She will talk about how to get DNA testing performed, the various types of DNA testing, what the results mean, and how these results can be applied to discovering more about our own families and ancestors. The event starts with brown bag lunches and discussion time starting at 12 noon and our presentation starts at 1:30 pm.

Wimberley Valley Art League Juried Show

The Wimberley Valley Art League will host a juried show. The juror will be Dripping Springs mixed media artist Debbie Little-Wilson. The opening reception will be on November 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. More information can be found at wimberleyartleague.org .

Next to Normal by the Wimberley Players

WAG Rescue Adoption Day

Come to King Feed, Saturday, November 9th, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and meet some of our fantastic dogs and puppies! You might just meet your new best friend! All available adult dogs have been fully vetted, are heartworm negative, are micro chipped and have been spayed or neutered. Puppies have been vetted, parvo tested, de-wormed and have had their shots current for their age and are micro chipped. WAG Rescue provides a spay/neuter voucher through Emancipet.

Open House for Veterans and their Families

Wimberley VFW Post 6441’s annual open house for all area veterans and their families is Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives of veterans’ service groups will be on hand to provide information and help attendees apply for benefits and other programs. There’s live music and entertainment for the whole family, and a barbecue lunch is free for veterans and their families. Non-veterans may join us for the meal for a donation. Centennial of Suffrage

Celebrate the 100 years since women gained the right to vote at the League of Women Voters of Hays County’s Suffrage Centennial Celebration, a special program that includes a special screening of Iron Jawed Angels, the story of suffragettes and suffragists, will occur from 2-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Wimberley Playhouse.

Two-Step for TESPA

The Trinity Edwards Springs Protection Association (TESPA) is hosting a fundraising dance at Montesino Ranch on Sunday, November 10. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., Dinner is at 6:30 p.m., Dancing till 9 p.m. Master of Ceremonies is Kerry Awn. Music by Two Tons of Steel and Erik Hokkanen. Making iNaturalist & Seek Work for You

The Native Plant Society of Texas, Hill Country Chapter, will meet on Monday, November 11 at Hays Country AgriLife Extension building, 200 Stillwater Road, Wimberley, on Hwy 12 next for the new Sonora Bank. Join us for a program presented by Craig Hensley, Texas Nature Trackers Biologist, to find out how to use the fun and easy iNaturalist and the new Seek app on your smartphone to document native plants for yourself and science. Craig will teach us how to use iNaturalist to identify and contribute pictures of native plants. Come prepared with the iNaturalist and Seek apps loaded and signed up on your phone so you’ll be ready to put it into action. Social time at 6:00 p.m., program at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome! Learn How to Create Your Own Unique Holiday Flower Arrangements at Wimberley Garden Club’s November Meeting

Local floral designer Catherine Fletcher will lead a presentation and demonstration on creating simple, unique arrangements for holiday decorating on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 101 W. Spoke Hill Dr. Following her program and a brief business meeting, members and guests are invited to stay for the club’s annual workshop where they create festive fall arrangements for Meals on Wheels recipients and residents of the Deer Creek skilled nursing facility. Stuff the Turkey Fundraiser

Ozona Bank will be raising money for the Wimberley Crisis Bread Basket Stuff the Turkey Fundraiser to help provide Thanksgiving meals for those in need in Wimberley. Employees, dressed as turkeys, will be on the sidewalk at the stoplight at River Road and Ranch Road 12 collecting money on November 14 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chapel in the Hills Holiday Bazaar

Chapel in the Hills, Wimberley will host their 3rd Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 16th from 9:00am-3:00pm, 14601 Ranch Road 12 (across from Dairy Queen). Christmas Market

The Christmas Market at Wimberley Presbyterian Church will take place on Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 - 2:00PM in the Fellowship Hall. We will have vendors from various fair-trade organizations such as 10,000 Villages, The Guatemala Mission Project, SERRV, Acts 1:8 Blessings, The Quilt Guild, and our own WPC table filled with crafts hand-made by our congregation! Please join us for this fun and worthwhile event. All proceeds go directly to the organizations which will benefit many people in this holiday season.
