Adult Summer Reading Program at the Wimberley Village Library

June 1 through August 10. Don’t let the kids have all the fun. Summer reading is for adults, too! Second Saturday Gallery Trail

Every month, around a dozen local galleries stay open late and welcome people to come early, stay late for wine and enjoy the light bites and an art-filled evening. Most galleries on the trail can be reached on foot around the Wimberley Square, but there are a few that you will want to get back in your car to visit. Shakespeare Under the Stars

Shakespeare Under The Stars will perform Anthony and Cleopatra from August 1 through 10 (no Sunday show) on the main stage of EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens. The show starts at 8:15 p.m.

WAG Rescue Adoption Day

Come to King Feed, Saturday, August 10th, and meet some of our fantastic dogs and puppies from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. You might just meet your new best friend! All available adult dogs have been fully vetted, are heartworm negative, are micro chipped and have been spayed or neutered. Puppies have been vetted, parvo tested, de-wormed and have had their shots current for their age and are micro chipped. WAG Rescue provides a spay/neuter voucher through Emancipet.

Cheri Fox Musick photo exhibit at Wimberley Valley Winery

Cheri Fox Musick’s photo exhibit: “My Life: Around the World and in the Garden” will debut on August 10, 2019 at the Wimberley Valley Winery. Cheri’s collection includes over 75 large scale photos for sale that captures her vast travels to over 70 countries in the past 15 years, she includes photos from her beloved garden at the winery. Ageless Grace: Timeless Fitness for the Body & Brain

Every Monday, 2 – 3 pm at the Wimberley Village Library. DuAnne Redus, certified instructor, teaches this free class that includes movements which focus on body, mind, emotions, and spirit, and target joint mobility, spinal flexibility, right-left brain coordination, cognitive function, balance, and more. The next meeting will be Monday, August 12.

Café Susanna

Cafe’ Susanna begins her 16th season serving delicious meals to the community on June 6th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The fare will be good ole’ church cookin’ featuring an entree’, two sides, bread, ice tea and your choice of desserts from our table of decadent home-made choices for only $9.00. Come and join the fellowship and good food every Thursday during June, July & August. We are located at 1200 CR 1492 at Wimberley United Methodist Church. Unfortunately, we will not be serving lunch on August 8th but all other Thursdays we will be ready and waiting for you. Remember, we have “Take-Outs”.

Haunt Pioneer Town Audition Dates

The Wimberley Players will host an audition for the Halloween ‘Haunted Pioneer Town’ program on August 15 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and August 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pioneer Town Opera House at 7A Ranch. Mystery Book Club

Thursday, August 15, 1 – 2 pm at the Wimberley Village Library. All mystery readers are invited to join the discussion of Track of the Cat by Nevada Barr. The Mystery Book Club meets monthy on the third Thursday and welcomes new participants.

Lunch & Learn Lecture: Impacts of Sugar on Your Health ~ Making Healthier Choices.

Wednesday, August 21, Noon – 1pm at the Wimberley Village Library. Get the facts about sugar from Kate Blankenship, Family & Community Health Agent from Hays County Extension Office. Topics will include: What sugar does for your body; Added Sugars; Alternative sweeteners; Reading the labels; Know your limits; How much sugar is in your food.

RECURRING EVENTS Crisis Bread Basket Summer Supplement Program

This summer, Wimberley’s Crisis Bread Basket is offering a special program of Summer Supplement Bags to clients with school-age children. These bags are intended to help offset the summer discontinuation of food that children receive during the regular school year. The summer supplement bags are in addition to normal food distributions the family receives and will provide nutritional food for children. Regular distribution times are Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Contact the Crisis Bread Basket at 512-847-5523 or email at [email protected].

Farmers Market

Wimberley Area Cancer Support Group

The Cancer Support Group meets on the second Wednesday of every month in the Wimberley Visitors Center board room, 11:30-1:00, brown bag lunch.
