Sam Baker at Susanna’s Kitchen

Sam Baker will perform at Susanna’s Kitchen and Coffee House on Thursday, June 20 at the Wimberley United Methodist Church. Doors will open at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Adults $20. Students $5. Living in Harmony: Keys to a Healthy, Resilient Valley

Monday, June 24, 6 -8pm at the Wimberley Village Library. Hill Country Alliance Land Program Manager, Daniel Oppenheimer, will discuss simple steps we can all take to enhance the natural beauty of our land, protect our groundwater, encourage our natives, and increase the resilience of our valley.

Comprehensive Plan Community Meetings

Any thoughts about what Wimberley should look like in the Future? The City Council wants to evaluate the town’s progress on the long term planning for Wimberley and Identify critical Issues for our Future. Any concerns over traffic, our environment, uncontrolled growth, water quality, etc? The Public is asked to join the Comprehensive Plan Review Committee in the Blanco Room of the Wimberley Community Center for an Open Workshop to gather your Ideas and Concerns. The final meeting will be held on June 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

4th Thursday Book Club discusses “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult

Into the Woods at EmilyAnn

Calling All Singers

July 4th Rodeo

The Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce invites businesses, nonprofits, families and individuals to participate in Wimberley’s Annual Independence Day Parade which will be held on Thursday, July 4th at 10:00 a.m. The theme is “Stars and Stripes.” Entry forms are available at the visitor center or online at www.wimberley.org.

VFW Rodeo

The Wimberley VFW Rodeo will be held on Thursday, Junly 4 through Saturday, July 6. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., Mutton Bustin’ at 7 p.m., Rodeo begins at 8 p.m.

Big Scoop Ice Cream Social

The annual Big Scoop Ice Cream Social, which benefits Camp Good Sam, will be held on July 6 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center. It is old fashioned summer fun, with ice cream, entertainment, and contests.

Adult Summer Reading Program at the Wimberley Village Library

June 1 through August 10. Don’t let the kids have all the fun. Summer reading is for adults, too! Pick up a reading log at the circulation desk, read 3 books, and turn in the log for a chance to win one of three fabulous prizes: a $125 gift card to Tilly’s in Dripping Springs; $50 gift card to Jobell’s Café and Bistro in Wimberley; and $50 gift card to Kiss the Cook in Wimberley

Café Susanna

Cafe’ Susanna begins her 16th season serving delicious meals to the community on June 6th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The fare will be good ole’ church cookin’ featuring an entree’, two sides, bread, ice tea and your choice of desserts from our table of decadent home-made choices for only $9.00. Come and join the fellowship and good food every Thursday during June, July & August. We are located at 1200 CR 1492 at Wimberley United Methodist Church. Unfortunately, we will not be serving lunch on July 4th & August 8th but all other Thursdays we will be ready and waiting for you. Remember, we have “Take-Outs”.

Crisis Bread Basket Summer Supplement Program

This summer, Wimberley’s Crisis Bread Basket is offering a special program of Summer Supplement Bags to clients with school-age children. These bags are intended to help offset the summer discontinuation of food that children receive during the regular school year. The summer supplement bags are in addition to normal food distributions the family receives and will provide nutritional food for children. Regular distribution times are Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Contact the Crisis Brea Basket at 512-847-5523 or email at [email protected].

Wimberley Area Cancer Support Group

The Cancer Support Group meets on the second Wednesday of every month in the Wimberley Visitors Center board room, 11:30-1:00, brown bag lunch. If you have cancer now or experienced it in the past, grab your lunch and join us for a relaxing time with others who share your journey. The Corral Theatre

Wimberley Cycling Club ride

All Abilities Chair Exercises

Lauren Robins and Carla Daws lead these classes that include breathing techniques, gentle strengthening exercises, mild yoga stretches, and gratitude practice – all from a seated position. Every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 – 10:30, at the Wimberley Village Library.
