Wimberley Wine Walk

April 4 @ 5:00 Pm - 8:00 Pm This year’s Wine Walk will take place at Blue Hole Regional Park. We will host wineries, food trucks and live music for you to enjoy! Heart of Texas Genealogy Society meeting

Heart of Texas Genealogy Society will meet on April 4, 2019 at the Wimberley Village Library. Ms. Laura Worsham, one of our members and a member of the Jacob’s Well Chapter of DAR will do a presentation on “Finding Your Female Ancestors, Uncovering some of their Mysteries, and Discovering their Amazing Stories”. She will identify knowledge needed as clues to calculate family relationships. She will include new avenues and sources that may hold the missing answers.

Concert in the Park at Blue Hole

Concert in the Park will be held every Friday in April at Blue Hole Regional Park. On Friday, April 5, Christy Hays will play starting at 6 p.m. Admission is by donation.

Wimberley Community Chorus Spring Concert

The Wimberley Community Chorus will host their spring concert with guest musicians from the Wimberley Valley Big Band on April 5 and 6 at 7 p.m. and April 8 at 3 p.m. The concert will be held at Chapel in the Hills. Diabetic Education Classes

Free Diabetic Education Classes

FREE Diabetic Education Classes are being offered by Wimberley Home Health. The April classes will be held at the Wimberley Medical Plaza, 201 FM 3237, Suite #123, Wimberley, Texas 78676. We will meet on Friday April 5,12,19, and 26th, from 1:00 -3:00. Plan to attend all four classes. Customer Appreciation Day at Wimberley Pharmacy

Wimberley Pharmacy will host a Customer Appreciation Day on April 5 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the pharmacy. There will be live music, food, wine, vendors, raffles, giveaways and a lots of fun.

Star Party at Blue Hole

The city of Wimberley and Texas State Astronomy Club will host a Star Party at Blue Hole Regional Park on April 6 at 7 p.m. The event is free and will be held on the soccer fields. Bring flashlights and experience the park like you never have before. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic, chairs and blankets.

Family Fun Day at Jacob’s Well

JACOBS WELL APRIL 6 Come join us for a day of family education and fun focusing on Texas wildflowers and native plants 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. There will be activities for children, wildflower walks, Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists will be present to help you identify plants, teach the benefits of pollinators, and answer questions about your individual landscaping issues.

Caregivers Conference

The first regional conference of the national non-profit organization CareGiving.com will be held in Wimberley on April 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center to support “family caregivers,” which are those who help loved ones as they struggle with aging, chronic disease or other disabilities. There are more than 10 workshops on variety of topics related to family caregiving, including: Alzheimer’s care, self-care, financial planning and more. WAG Rescue BBQ Fundraiser

Saturday, April 6th from 11am-2pm at Los Olivos, 13904 RR 12, Wimberley. Come join us for some delicious BBQ at Los Olivos Market, cooked by Dr. Tony Maxwell and his BBQ cooking team “No Sauce Allowed!” This event promises to be a good time, and all proceeds will go directly to WAG Rescue! 11am-2pm, $10/plate. Brisket, chicken, green beans and slaw.

Facility-wide Garage Sale at Locktiite

Locktite Storage will host a facility-wide garage sale on April 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., There will be free food, drinks and fun. A bounce house and face painter will be on hand.

Taize Prayer

A Taize Prayer service “The Way of the Cross” will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on April 10 at 6 p.m. The community is invited to join for the special service hosted by St. Stephen’s Daughters of the King.

Living in Harmony: Plants and our Future presented by Michelle Bertelsen

Wednesday, April 10, 6 -8pm, at the Wimberley Village Library. Vegetation ties everything together – Wildlife, land, water. Animals depend on plants for food. Without vegetatlion our land erodes and water runs off instead of absorbing and recharging our aquifer. Ecolgist and land steward, Michelle Bertelsen, will talk about the importance of plant diversity and the ecological functions needed to sustain a healthy native landscape using work done at our own Blue Hole Park as an example.

‘FRIDAY FISH FRY’ by Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Catholic Church is offering its Friday Fish Fry 5-7:30pm March 8 – April 12 in the church hall. Cost is $10.

‘Proof’ at Wimberley Playhouse

David Auburn’s drama Proof opens on the Wimberley Players stage April 12 and runs through May 5. The production will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 P.M., Sundays at 2:30 P.M. Wimberley Cemetery Cleanup Day

The Wimberley Cemetery Association is looking for volunteers to help with a Spring Cleaning of the Wimberley Cemetery! The cleanup day will on April 13, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Help is needed to rake leaves, pick up limbs and trim overgrown bushes. And don’t forget picking up trash and blown flowers! With the windy winter and spring we have had, there’s something for everyone. Please bring rakes, blowers, trimmers and energy. Trash bags provided. Everyone welcome!

Lions Club free screenings

Free diabetes and vision screenings on Saturday, April 13th, from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m., under the tent in the Brookshire Brothers parking lot. Hosted by the Wimberley Lions Club. In case of inclement weather, the screenings will be conducted inside the store

29th Annual Pie Social

The Wimberley Institute of Cultures will host the 29th annual Wimberley Pie Social on Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winters-Wimberley House. Pie eating contest at 12 p.m., winning pies auction at 1 p.m.. More information on www.wimwic.org
