Now through April 19, all WISD campuses will collect new sports equipment for Logan’s Dugout, a program through Barnabas Connection that provides sports equipment for families who find the cost to pursue sports prohibitive. The most needed items are athletic socks, baseball and softball belts, soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, soccer pants, knee pads, football and baseball gloves, and cleats. The Wimberley Civic Club’s Hill Country Home Tour opens the doors to five unique homes, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 and 13. View them at your own pace with the tour map. Tickets are $30 per person. The City of Wimberley, with the help of Texas Disposal Systems, will hold a Community Clean Up Day, 8 a.m. to noon at the Lion’s Club Parking Lot, 601 FM2325. Bulky items allowed include sofas, stoves, refrigerators, water tanks, washing machines, clothes dryers, AC units, sinks, toilets, furniture and other waste materials. No hazardous items, chemical compounds, mixtures or substances allowed. No paints, motor oils, gasoline, mattresses, box springs or tires. Calling All Bunco Gals. The Wimberley Area Republicans are sponsoring a luncheon with Bunco games from 1 to 4 p.m. at the VFW, 401 Jacobs Well Rd. A silent auction will be held and prizes of $100, $75, and $50 gift baskets will be awarded. A portion of the proceeds go to Crisis Bread Basket. Entry fee is $30. This is a BYOB event. Two talks, one about the Texas-Mexico border and the other about the dangers of Fentanyl will be presented at the VFW Post #6441, 401 Jacob’s Well Rd., from 3 to 5 p.m. Border Intelligence expert Jaeson Jones, will present, “Eyes On The Border” from 3 to 4 p.m., and Anthony Hipolito, a longtime area law enforcement professional, will present, “Fentanyl Kills, Keep Your Kids Safe.” The public is invited to attend and the talks are free.

The Hill Country Unit of the Herb Society of America will host a presentation on “The Beauty of Wildflowers” by John Thomas, owner and founder, of WildSeed Farms in Fredericksburg, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church, 956 FM2325. “Spring Fling,” the annual Game Day fundraiser hosted by St Mary’s Catholic Church Ladies Guild, will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St Mary’s, 14711 RR12. Lunch, a silent auction and games such as Mahjong, Mexican Train, and others will connect you to neighbors and new friends. Tickets are $15. The Adult Craft LAB is a year-round tinker and craft program for adults 18 and up organized by the Wimberley Valley Library. Classes are held via Zoom on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Farmers and Artisan market, a community-based endeavor, specializes in fresh foods from growers and welcomes art, craft and other vendors. Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Cowboy Church, 120 Green Acres Dr. The Wimberley Valley Museum located in the historic Winters-Wimberley House, 14068 Ranch Rd 12, is open for visitors on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, and on the first Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. For information, go to wimwic.org.
