April 6

Wimberley Market Days, the Hill Country’s largest outdoor market with more than 500 vendors, music concessions and parking, opens at 7 a.m. and continues to 4 p.m., rain or shine, at Lion’s Field, 601 FM2325.

April 6

ACE Hardware is hosting a Street Dance, featuring the Hitmen 8.0 performing hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, from 6 to 10 p.m. at 14307 RR 12. Food vendors, door prizes, performances by Wimberley Dance Elite and WJH and WHS Cheer Squads. Free and open to the public. BYOB and chairs. Proceeds benefit wimberley Special Olympics.

April 6

Road closures at the Wimberley Square, the Quarter Shops, and on Old Kyle Road from RR 12 to the entrance to Blue Hole Lane, from 6 a.m. through the evening of April 8. Those areas will be open Tuesday, April 9.

April 8

Total Solar Eclipse, approximately 1:35 p.m., with a principal viewing area at Blue Hole Regional Park. Bring solar sunglasses, water, chairs and a sense of wonder.

April 8

Wimberley Schools close for the day in honor of the eclipse. Classes will resume Tuesday, April 9.

WEEKLY EVENTS

Friday Night Bingo is held weekly at the VFW Post #6441, 401 Jacob’s Well Rd. Doors and concessions open at 6:30 p.m., early bird bingo is at 7 p.m., and regular bingo is at 8 p.m. Family friendly. Gentle Yoga with Carla Daws at St.Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 4 to 5 p.m., by donation. Bring a mat and water bottle.

The Adult Craft LAB is a year-round tinker and craft program for adults 18 and up organized by the Wimberley Valley Library. Classes are held via Zoom on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Farmers and Artisan market, a community-based endeavor, specializes in fresh foods from growers and welcomes art, craft and other vendors. Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Cowboy Church, 120 Green Acres Dr. The Wimberley Valley Museum located in the historic Winters-Wimberley House, 14068 Ranch Rd 12, is open for visitors on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, and on the first Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, go to wimwic.org.

Overeaters Anonymous, Wimberley Chapter, meets 7 p.m., second and fourth Mondays at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church, 956 RR2325. For information, call or text Aida at (512) 787-8313.

The Wimberley Group of Alcoholics Anonymous beginners meeting meets on Monday nights at 7 p.m. at the clubhouse, 16933 RR12. It is open to the public and interested parties. For more information call 512 694 4898.

MONTHLY EVENTS

Coffee and Cars is held the first Sunday of the month at Blanco Brew, 14200 RR12, from 8 to 11 a.m. Drivers with a hot rod, muscle car, sports car, exotic vehicle, classic truck or otherwise unique ride are welcome to put their car on display. For information, go to 12kingscarclub.com.

The Wimberley Valley Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church at 956 RR2325. Social time is at 10 a.m., followed by a brief business meeting at 10:30 a.m.

The Jacob’s Well Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets in Wimberley every second Monday to pursue historic preservation, patriotism and education in service to the community. For information, email [email protected].

The Herb Society meets the third Wednesday each month, September to June, at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church 956 RR2325. Social time starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by a meeting at 10 a.m. Activities include herb-related presentations, recipes, field trips and workshops.
