January 25

Registration has commenced for Wimberley Community Chorus singers. Rehearsals begin on Monday, February 5th, 7 to 9 p.m. at Avey Hall, Chapel in the Hills, 14601 Ranch Road 12. Choral Director is Craig Aamot and the accompanist is Karla Cruz. Pre-register online at wimberleycommunitychorus.org.

Wimberley Democrats will hold a Democratic Candidate Forum, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Oldham-Cummings VFW Post 6441, 401 Jacobs Well Road. A candidate meet and greet will take place from 2:30 to 3 p.m. for uncontested candidates, followed by a moderated program from 3 to 5:30 p.m. for races with multiple candidates. Marilyn Miller, Certified Elder Law Attorney, will lead a presentation on Elder Law, Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 956 FM 2325. The League of Women Voters is holding a wine tasting event, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Community Center, 14068 RR12. Fine wines, delectable snacks and a silent auction are part of the festivities. Tickets are $40.00 and can be purchased by mailing a check to LWV of Hays Country, P.O. Box 414, Wimberley. To purchase tickets and sponsorships online, go to lwvhaysco.com. February 3

The Knights of Columbus present their annual Mardi Gras Casino Night, from 6 to 10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Activity Center, 14711 Ranch Road 12. Gaming, dinner, dessert, an open bar and prize drawings are part of the fun. Proceeds will go toward the Wimberley Valley Responders Appreciation Luncheon on March 21.

The Adult Craft LAB is a year-round tinker and craft program for adults 18 and up organized by the Wimberley Valley Library. Classes are held via Zoom on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Farmers and Artisan market, a community-based endeavor, specializes in fresh foods from growers and welcomes art, craft and other vendors. Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Cowboy Church, 120 Green Acres Dr. The Wimberley Valley Museum located in the historic Winters-Wimberley House, 14068 Ranch Rd 12, is open for visitors on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, and on the first Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. For information, go to wimwic.org.

MONTHLY EVENTS

Coffee and Cars is held the first Sunday of the month at Blanco Brew, 14200 RR12, from 8 to 11 a.m. Drivers with a hot rod, muscle car, sports car, exotic vehicle, classic truck or otherwise unique ride are welcome to put their car on display. For information, go to 12kingscarclub.com.

The Wimberley Valley Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church at 956 RR2325. Social time is at 10 a.m., followed by a brief business meeting at 10:30 a.m.

The Jacob’s Well Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets in Wimberley every second Monday to pursue historic preservation, patriotism and education in service to the community. For information, email [email protected].
