Holistic Gardening Series: Korean Natural Farming

Korean Natural Farming takes advantage of indigenous microorganisms to produce fertile soils that yield high output without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Stacy Shepherd will continue to guide you through the steps to cultivate and educate the native microorganisms on your own land. Coffee and Conservation

The Hays County Extension Office will hold a Coffee and Conservation talk at Sip! On the Square on December 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Learn from the agency about trees, livestock, wildlife and wildfires.

Explore the EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens Breakfast

On the second Thursday of every month, December, 13th, you’re invited to join the EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens for breakfast and a tour to learn more about events and opportunities at the EmilyAnn, located at 1101 FM 2325. Blue Christmas at Blue Hole

Celebrate the holiday season at Blue Christmas on December 15th from 2:00 to 7:30 at Blue Hole Regional Park! Come stroll in the park and enjoy vendors, food trucks, and hot drinks. Sit by the fire and roast a couple of marshmallows and listen to live Christmas music. Catch a horse carriage ride through the park. Stop by the photo booth, and get your picture with Santa! Children will also enjoy our Reindeer Games during the event. Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and enter our contest starting at 4:30. Stay into the evening for the movie ELF! starting at 5:30 on Blue Hole’s swim lawn. Admission is FREE. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited at Blue Hole Regional Park.

A Christmas Carol at EmilyAnn

Children’s Theatre at the EmilyAnn is back with A Christmas Carol on Saturday, December 15 at 10 a.m. and Sunday, December 16 at 2 p.m. in the Burdine Johnson Studio Theatre.

Starlight Symphony at First Baptist Church

Sunday, December 16, 2018: Wimberley Join the Starlight Symphony Orchestra as it celebrates the holiday season with a family-friendly concert at 4:00 pm at the Wimberley First Baptist Church, 15951 Winters Mill Parkway, in Wimberley, TX. Nick Vujicic at Cypress Creek Church

Nick Vujicic, with Life Without Limbs, will speak at Cypress Creek Church on December 16 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. All are welcome and childcare is available. More information can be found at www.lifewithoutlimbs.com.

Dale Watson and Susanna’s Kitchen

There is no higher praise for Dale Watson than that of Willie Nelson, who counts himself as “one of Dale’s biggest fans.” On December 20, this “keeper of the true country music flame” will bring his brand of American roots music back to Susanna’s Kitchen Coffeehouse in Wimberley. Holiday Movies at Wimberley Playhouse

The Wimberley Playhouse will show multiple holiday movies over the next few weeks. On Saturday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m., Polar Express will play. On Sunday, Dec. 23 at 3 p.m. White Christmas will play. On Friday, Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Les Miserables will play.

Trail of Lights

EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens invites you to the 21st Annual Trail of Lights daily, November 24th through December 28th, 2018. Sundays through Thursdays 6-9pm. Fridays and Saturdays 6-10pm. Stroll a walking path with more than 100 lighted exhibits created by local businesses, organizations, churches and families. Roast a marshmallow at the Yule Log and enjoy live entertainment on most nights. Admission is free; donations are appreciated

New Year’s Eve Holiday Bash at Wimberley Playhouse

On New Year’s Eve, the Wimberley Players will host a Holiday Bash at the Wimberley Playhouse. The celebration starts at 6 p.m. Back by popular demand, Hideout Theatre members are traveling from Austin to the Playhouse to put on a two-act show that begins at 7:00 with an intermission featuring a delectable spread of appetizers and prosecco. Basic Life Skills contest

Basic Life skills class series will be taught at the AgriLife Extension office, starting January 5th, 2019. All classes are FREE and open to ages 13-18 years old. Topics include: Cooking basics, car care basics, grocery shopping tips, financial management, interview skills/public speaking, self defense, basic first aid, Tool basics. Classes will be held on Saturdays once a month. The first class will be Cooking basics on January 5thfrom 9-11am. Call the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension office to sign-up!

Hays County Master Naturalist Training Class

Do you want to be able to identify plants and animals found in and around Hays County? Do you want to be part of a volunteer organization to assist with restoration and nature education in Hays County and the surrounding area? Then join the 2019 class to become a Hays County Master Naturalist! Classes meet from February through October 2019, Tuesday evenings and some Saturday mornings at various locations in Hays County. Cost $175 (Scholarships available) ---- must be 18 years old to apply. Applications available 11/26/18 to 1/7/19 on our website at www.haysmn.org
