Game 5: Texan Football v Lampasas The Wimberley Texan football team will take on the the Lampasas Badgers on Friday, September 23 at on the road. The game can be heard on KWVH.org or 94.3 FM. Pregame starts at 7 p.m. Kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Best Bud’s Program Wimberley Best Bud is a mentor program for all Wimberley kids. They have been serving the community since 2016 by providing volunteer mentors to meet with individual children on the WISD campuses for 30 mins each week. This gift of devoted time to one or more children helps improve a child’s confidence and outlook. They believe what best-selling author and motivational speaker Josh Shipp has stated, “every child is one caring adult away from being a success story.” Anyone who would like to hear more about the program and how to volunteer can join them at the Wimberley Library Multi-Purpose Room at 11:30 a.m. on September 29 or contact Courtenay Kehl at [email protected].

Art League Studio Tour The Wimberley Valley Art League will host the annual Studio Tour on October 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and oct.

The Hill Country Community Band Presents “Hail Britannia: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II” The Hill Country Community Band will present “Hail Britannia: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II” on Sunday, October 2, at 4 p.m., at the Wimberley First Baptist Church. Woodcreek Arbor day and National Night Out Woodcreek Arbor Day, hosted by the city of Woodcreek’s Tree Board, along with National Night Out will be held on Tues. Oct. 4 at Camp Young Judaea. Arbor Day will be from 3-5 p.m. and National Night Out will be from 5-7 p.m. Arbor Day will provide educational material, speakers, activities for the kids, tree planting, and a raffle. National Night Out is an event to honor all our First Responders. Both events will include food and music. A petting zoo will be there. Your attendance will help Woodcreek become a Tree City USA. Camp Young Judaea will also be open for swimming.

RECURRING EVENTS New Farmers and Artisan Market The new Farmers & Artisan Market is a communitybased event specializing in fresh foods from growers and connecting with local farmers and food producers; allowing people to buy their food directly from those who are producing it. The market also welcomes local Artisan foods, crafts, art, jewelry, essential oils and a wide variety of vendors. Join them every Thursday, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. 15951 Winters Mill Pkwy on the grounds of the First Baptist Church.

Wimberley Photography Club meeting The members of the Wimberley Photography Club meet to share ideas and to promote education in all fields of photography. Members consist of photographers of all skill levels who enjoy capturing, printing, and exhibiting their work, as well as participating in photo competitions and good fellowship. Meetings will be held at the library every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.. The first Tuesday consists of a program or presentation of technical or educational nature. The third Tuesday will be a competition meeting. The first meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 20 where we will share a wealth of information.

VFW Bingo The Wimberley VFW Post 6441 hosts bingo on Friday nights. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with food concessions.

This program is just what you need! Drop off your kiddos at the Wimberley Community Center for the evening and city of Wimberley’s Parks and Recreation Department will keep them entertained in a fun and safe environment.

Your kids will enjoy games, arts, crafts, homework help, and group activities for youth ages 6 – 13. Dates are the 2nd Thursday of every month, 5:30pm – 8:30pm. Registration is $10 per child and drop-off will begin at the Wimberley Community Center at 5:30 pm. Children must be picked up
