Essential Oil Safety

Thursday, November 29, 1 – 3 pm Terri Brimm, a student at the American College of Healthcare Sciences, will discuss Essential Oil Safety issues. The discussion will be followed by a make-and-take for the upcoming holidays. Please note, this is *not* a sales pitch for essential oils.

Wimberley Valley Museum Grand Opening

The Wimberley Institute of Cultures invites the public to the opening of the new Wimberley Valley Museum located at the Winters-Wimberley House next to the community center on Saturday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Market Days

The first Saturday of every month March through December, thousands of people descend upon Wimberley for the Lions Club’s Market Days. From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., 475 booths line the oldest outdoor market in the Texas Hill Country.

Wimberley Metaphysical and Holistic Fair

The Wimberley Metaphysical and Holistic Fair will be held on December 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center. Admission is free.

Lion in the Winter

Documentary Film Night

Beginning Meditation

Heart of Texas Genealogy Society will meet on December 6th at the Wimberley Village Library. Our topic for our December meeting is “How we can connect to cousins and what happens after we find them!!” During the round table prior to the presentation time, please bring your questions, road blocks, and other things you would like to discuss. The meeting starts at 11:30 a.m. and the presentation begins at 1:30 p.m.

Holistic Gardening Series: Korean Natural Farming

Korean Natural Farming takes advantage of indigenous microorganisms to produce fertile soils that yield high output without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Stacy Shepherd will continue to guide you through the steps to cultivate and educate the native microorganisms on your own land. Coffee and Conservation

The Hays County Extension Office will hold a Coffee and Conservation talk at Sip! On the Square on December 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Learn from the agency about trees, livestock, wildlife and wildfires.

Trail of Lights

EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens invites you to the 21st Annual Trail of Lights daily, November 24th through December 28th, 2018. Sundays through Thursdays 6-9pm. Fridays and Saturdays 6-10pm. Stroll a walking path with more than 100 lighted exhibits created by local businesses, organizations, churches and families. Roast a marshmallow at the Yule Log and enjoy live entertainment on most nights. Admission is free; donations are appreciated

Basic Life Skills contest

Basic Life skills class series will be taught at the AgriLife Extension office, starting January 5th, 2019. All classes are FREE and open to ages 13-18 years old. Topics include: Cooking basics, car care basics, grocery shopping tips, financial management, interview skills/public speaking, self defense, basic first aid, Tool basics. Classes will be held on Saturdays once a month. The first class will be Cooking basics on January 5thfrom 9-11am. Call the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension office to sign-up!

Hays County Master Naturalist Training Class Do you want to be able to identify plants and animals found in and around Hays County? Do you want to be part of a volunteer organization to assist with restoration and nature education in Hays County and the surrounding area? Then join the 2019 class to become a Hays County Master Naturalist! Classes meet from February through October 2019, Tuesday evenings and some Saturday mornings at various locations in Hays County. Cost $175 (Scholarships available) ---- must be 18 years old to apply. Applications available 11/26/18 to 1/7/19 on our website at www.haysmn.org
