VFW Open House

The Wimberley VFW will host an open house on Saturday, November 13 to honor veterans and their families. Free lunch will be served. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the VFW Hall.

Birds and Brew

Are you an aspiring birder who wants to learn more about birds? Join Blue Hole Regional Park as they go on a bird outing through Blue Hole searching for feathered friends with aviary biologists from SWCA Environmental Consultants. The group will meet in the swimming area parking lot for coffee and conversation before the outing. Bring your own reusable mug or use the cups we provide. Kid-friendly binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Birds and Brew will be held on November 13 at Blue Hole at 8 a.m. and runs until 9:30 a.m.

Teen and Tween Tech Class

On November 13, form 1 to 4 p.m. Kyle Kunkle will host a tech class for ages 11 to 15 at the Wimberley Village Library. Computers provided. Students will have an introduction to graphic design. Sign up at the circulation desk.

KWVH Concert Fundraiser Enjoy “Big Mon” in concert on Sunday, November 14 from 3P-6P at Ghost Note Brewing, 23663 RR 12.. “Big Mon” plays bluegrass turned reggae. Admission is free, but donations will benefit 94.3 KWVH! “Big Mon” was Bill Monroe’s nickname. The band has taken many of Bill’s bluegrass lyrics and music and turned them into reggae classics! There will be a food truck and the bar will be open! Proceeds benefit 94.3 KWVH!

WVAL Juried Art Show

The Wimberley Valley Art League will host the next juried art show beginning on Nov. 18 at the Wimberley Community Center. The jurors for the hybrid show will be Amanda Smith and Kevin Tully, owners of A Smith Gallery. The show will feature 50 works by local talented artists.

Annual Wimberley Quilt Guild Sale

The Wimberley Valley Quilt Guild is preparing for their annual Holiday sale to be held at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at 956 FM 2325 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th. Our members from all areas of Hays County have created beautiful hand-made items including 100 quilts and many other gift items for this sale. ALL proceeds from the sale will benefit the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center.

Wimberley Area Cancer Support Group

If you have experienced the diagnosis of cancer now or in the past, we invite you to meet with the Cancer Support Group, sponsored by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, to talk and relax with others who share your experiences. Meetings are in the Chamber of Commerce members’ room, 11:30 AM - 1 PM on the second Wednesday of the month.

Wimberley Valley Museum

There are new hours for the Winters-Wimberley House/ Wimberley Valley Museum. It will be open on the first weekend of month (Market Days Weekend) with docents Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. starting June 4 and 5.

Farmers Market

The Wimberley Farmers Market is open every Wednesday, 3 - 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the visitor center, 14100 RR 12. Call (512) 264-1637 for more information.

VFW Bingo

The Wimberley VFW Post 6441 hosts bingo on Friday nights. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with food concession. Earlybird games start at 7:15 p.m. Regular games start at 8 p.m. For more information visit texasvfw.net/bingo.

Transportation Gathering

Bring your car, motorcycle, pickup, or whatever, whether classic or not to the First Baptist Church parking lot the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. Coffee provided
