Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group Meeting

The Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group will meet on Thursday, Nov. 4th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church Library, 956 FM 2325, Wimberley. This is an opportunity for caregivers to meet together, ask questions and share information. Please plan to join us! Star Party at Blue Hole

Co-sponsored by the City of Wimberley and the Wimberley Dark Skies Committee, there will be a Star Party at Blue Hole on Nov. 6. The stars at night are big and bright, deep in the heart of Wimberley! Join astronomers from the Wimberley Valley Dark Sky Committee on the Blue Hole Regional Park Soccer Fields. You are encouraged to bring something to sit on, a picnic, and flashlights. Admission is FREE! Check-in begins at 7:30 and the show starts at dusk.

Big Band Fall Fest

The Wimberley Valley Big Band FALL FEST has been rescheduled to November 6 from 3-5pm on the BackStage venue located behind the Cypress Creek Cafe front. It is a free outdoor concert. Details found at wimberleyvalleybigband.org.

Service of Lament at EmilyAnn

The Wimberley UMC is offering a Service of Lament for the community on November 7 at 5 p.m. at EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens. Come prepared to sing, raise prayers, and bring your losses to a wailing wall, where you can scribble and lay down all those people and things your heart still grieves, once held dear and near. We hope it to be a time for love, peace, and rebuilding in our gathering.

Daughters of the American Revolution

Jacob’s Well Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, meets at the Emily Ann Theater in Wimberley on November 8 at 9:40 am for chat time and 10 am for our business meeting. For more information, please go to [email protected].

Turkeys on 12

Ozona Bank is teaming up with Crisis Bread Basket once again for the Turkeys on 12 Campaign. Expect to see turkey’s collecting money at the intersection of Ranch Road 12 and River Road on November 9 and 10 for the cause.

Birds and Brew

Are you an aspiring birder who wants to learn more about birds? Join Blue Hole Regional Park as they go on a bird outing through Blue Hole searching for feathered friends with aviary biologists from SWCA Environmental Consultants. The group will meet in the swimming area parking lot for coffee and conversation before the outing. Bring your own reusable mug or use the cups we provide. Kid-friendly binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Birds and Brew will be held on November 13 at Blue Hole at 8 a.m. and runs until 9:30 a.m.

Annual Wimberley Quilt Guild

The Wimberley Valley Quilt Guild is preparing for their annual Holiday sale to be held at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at 956 FM 2325 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th. Our members from all areas of Hays County have created beautiful hand-made items including 100 quilts and many other gift items for this sale. ALL proceeds from the sale will benefit the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center. Please join us for this fun and worthwhile event!

Wimberley Area Cancer Support Group

If you have experienced the diagnosis of cancer now or in the past, we invite you to meet with the Cancer Support Group, sponsored by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, to talk and relax with others who share your experiences. Meetings are in the Chamber of Commerce members’ room, 11:30 AM - 1 PM on the second Wednesday of the month.
