The filing period for the Wimberley ISD Board of Trustees and Woodcreek City Council elections has opened. Potential candidates can apply until the August 17 deadline.

Wimberley ISD has two positions that will be up for election. The term for Ken Strange will expire this year as will the vacated seat of Gina Fulkerson, who resigned when she was elected Mayor of Wimberley.

The terms for Aurora LeBrun, Nancye Britner and Bill Scheel will expire this year. LeBrun and Britner were elected in 2018. Scheel was appointed to his seat to fill the remainder of Cyndi Jackson’s term after her resignation.

One position will be a special election to fill the unexpired term of Councilmember Charles Le-Compte, who resigned a few weeks after his election. Vicki Alvord was appointed to fill the seat until this year’s election. The special election will be for a oneyear term.

Candidates for the Woodcreek City Council will have to choose if they wish to run for one of the positions that has a twoyear term or for the position with a one-year term.
