Dylan Meek to hold hometown concert

Wimberley United Methodist Church will host Dylan Meek on Thursday, March 12 for a “Coming Home Concert” in the main sanctuary. Meek returns to play original jazz, blues, and soul with piano, guitar and vocals giving tribute to the town that raised him. The concert begins at 7:00 with doors opening at 6:30.

Known for delivering powerhouse performances, his past Wimberley concerts have filled to capacity. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Tickets available at the door are $20 donation for adults, $5 for college students, free for 18 and under.

Five years since Meek’s last hometown concert, the 29 year old will share songs and stories from his travels and experiences.

“I’ve traveled to so many places, here and abroad, played for thousands in stadiums, concert halls, and late night TV shows,” Meek said. “But there is no place like home and nothing better than playing for the town that supported me from the beginning. Touching base is so important.”

Leaving Wimberley at 18, Meek received a jazz performance degree from the New School of Music and performed in New York City for seven years. He relocated to LA four years ago.

Meek co-wrote the song “Invincible” featured in the movie “Into the Spider-Verse”, a Grammy 2020 nominee. He recorded music for Mike Judge’s “Tales from the Tour Bus” series, and opened for Imagine Dragons with Grace Vanderwall at 43 major stadiums including Madison Square Garden, The Forum, and Red Rocks. He has shared stages with superstar Post Malone on Seth Myers, Miguel at Rock in Rio and played the Cannes Film Festival, Canada and the UK.

Recently finishing a second album and shopping it to labels, Meek plans to release the album’s first single this summer.
