DSWSC to discuss water contract with Electro Purification

Dripping Springs Water Supply Corporation will hold a meeting on Monday, October 12 at noon to discuss a potential contract for water with Electro Purification.

Electro Purification is a private company that has a well field to pump water in Driftwood along FM 3237 near Rolling Oaks Drive. The company’s pursuit to pump water from the area to sell to public water supplies has met significant backlash from the public since the project began in 2015.

The draft proposal that is up for discussion has not been finalized at this point. Dripping Springs Water Supply Corporation General Manager Kyle Dannhaus said that the corporation has a draft of a proposed contract from Electro Purification but that negotiation would be necessary if the corporation was interested in moving forward. The details of the draft proposal are not available to the public at this time.

“We need to figure if the board would like to continue to negotiate at this point,” Dannhaus said. "We’ve had a handful of meetings with them. We haven’t done any real serious negotiation with that draft proposal, but it is still on the table. I’m looking for direction from the board.”

The meeting will be held at the Dripping Springs Water Supply Corporation Office, located at 101 Hays Street Suite 416 in Dripping Springs.
