Curative mobile coronavirus testing announces upcoming holiday closures

Curative mobile COVID-19 testing announced holiday closures in observance of Christmas and New Year’s.

Free COVID-19 testing conducted by Curative is still available throughout Hays County. But in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, all Curative mobile testing sites throughout Hays County will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31, and Jan. 1.

The testing is provided at no cost to individuals being tested and is available to anyone, whether or not they reside in Hays County.

Curative bills private insurance companies for testing services, rather than the individual. Those without insurance will not be turned away and will receive the test for free.

Funding for the free testing is provided by the Texas Division of Emergency Management.

Due to increased demand, appointments are required and walk-ups will no longer be accepted. To make an appointment, visit www.curativetest.com. The test uses painless self-administered cheek swabs. Results are expected to be available 24-48 hours following the testing date.

Curative Mobile Testing Sites are located at: Hays CISD PAC at 979 Kohlers Crossing, daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; San Marcos Premium Outlets at 3939 S. I-35, San Marcos daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Wimberley Community Center Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; The Triangle at 151 E. Mercer St., Dripping Springs, Friday through Monday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and the parking lot at Main St. and China St. in Buda, Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

As of Sunday, Dec. 6, Curative had tested 38,775 individuals at their Hays County testing sites with a 19% positivity rate or a total of 7,376 positive cases. Please note that not all of the 38,775 individuals tested are Hays County residents as the testing is open to anyone regardless of county of residence.

Hays County is encouraging residents to work to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community, which includes wearing masks, washing hands and staying away from gatherings of people.
