COVID-19 causes Community Concert cancelation
The Wimberley Community Chorus announced that the Spring Concert, and practices leading up to the concert, is canceled due to concern of the spread of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus.
“The Wimberley Community Chorus Board has made the difficult decision to postpone our spring concerts,” a statement from the Community Chorus said. “We have all watched the growing concern over the Coronavirus and the call for people to limit contact with groups, particularly for people who are older and/or have underlying health issues.”
The Wimberley Community Chorus is celebrating its 40th year and said that “many of our members fall within the most at-risk group” for COVID-19.
“This decision is particularly difficult since we love the music and singing with each other in the biggest chorus we have ever had! This was a tough decision, but we are confident that it is the right thing to do. We look forward to resuming our work for our 40th at some future date. In the meantime, watch for communication in late April or early May on our July 4th concert if the situation improves.”
