Civic Club scholarship applications due March 22

The Wimberley Community Civic Club is again offering financial aid to Wimberley Valley and KAPS students who are college bound. Eligible students must attend school within the Wimberley ISD limits which also includes homeschooled students.

Applications will be considered for a traditional university or for a qualified non-traditional institution of higher learning, such as a trade school, culinary, or art institute. The applications may be downloaded from the Wimberley Community Civic Club website, www.wimberleyccc.org, the Wimberley High School scholarship link, or the KAPS school website.

Completed applications are due Monday, March 22. WHS and KAPS students must return their applications to their school’s guidance counselors. Homeschooled students are asked to return their applications to a box located outside of the KAPS entry doors. Late or incomplete applications will be disqualified.

Questions can be directed to WHS or KAPS school counselors. WCCC members are not allowed to discuss scholarship applications with students or parents.

If a student is awarded a scholarship, they will have to comply with one extra step: By August 13, students will be required to supply WCCC with proof of enrollment in their intended university or trade school. This could be a copy of a school ID or a class schedule. If the applicant fails to comply with this requirement, their scholarship monies will be forfeited.

As a 501©3 (non-profit) organization, the Civic Club returns all profits to the community through donations to local non-profit organizations and scholarships to graduating seniors.
