Civic Club launches popular Spring Events
The Wimberley Community Civic Club has launched their annual Spring Events for 2024. Classes, travel, events, games, lunches, brunches and dinners as well as arts and crafts workshops are all part of the year’s offerings.
February 17 is a date to remember for a Comedy and Magic Show with award-winning magician Cody Fisher. Fisher will present two hours of close-up magic during his comedy-infused stage show at the Wimberley Community Center. The event includes dinner and wine. For guests who prefer libations other than wine, BYOB is an option. Tickets are $85 per person. VIP front row seating is also available for $115. Last day to enroll is February 10. The Community Center is located at 14068 Ranch Rd 12.
On March 5, Tricia Linklater Fields is hosting a private screening of the film, “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” Linklater Fields worked in the Los Angeles film industry for more than 30 years, including on the film which will be screened from 2 to 4:30 p.m. She will give a brief talk about sound in movie theaters and answer questions about how Hollywood films are made. The screening will include popcorn, sodas and two glasses of wine or two cocktails. The event will be held at EVO Theatre in San Marcos, 1180 Thorpe Ln. Tickets are $50 and the last day to enroll is March 1.
March 23 is the date for the Annual Trivia Night at the Wimberley Community Center. Teams of up to 10 players compete for a cash prize in a lighthearted atmosphere of friendly competition and fun. The popular event includes dinner, desserts and snacks and the chance to win an outstanding bottle of wine in the Wine Pull. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., tickets are $50 per person. The Community Center is located at 14068 RR 12. Last day to enroll is March 10.
On May 1, the Tablescape Showcase will return, this time at Vintage Oaks Farm, from 4 to 6 p.m. Local artisans create tablescapes that inspire other creatives for their originality and innovation. Participants enjoy complimentary bubbly and are asked to vote on their favorite composition. One of the tableaus will be auctioned off to a lucky winner. Tickets are $40. The last day to enroll is April 25. Vintage Oaks Farm in Driftwood is located at 400 Limestone Lane.
