City of Wimberley taking applications for Mayor and two council positions

Candidates for the 2024 City of Wimberley General Election may file an application for a place on the ballot starting Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The deadline to file is Friday, February 16, 2024 at 5 p.m. Election Day is Saturday, May 4.

The following positions will be filled in the upcoming general election:

• Mayor (Gina Fulkerson is the Current Office Holder.)

• City Council Place Two (Teresa Shell is the Current Office Holder.)

• City Council Place Four (Jim Chiles is the Current Office Holder.)

Qualifications for Mayor are: Candidates must reside in the state of Texas one year prior to the filing deadline and reside one year in Wimberley prior to election day. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and must be a registered voter in Hays County by the filing deadline.

Qualifications for City Council Members are: Candidates must reside in the state of Texas one year prior to the filing deadline and reside six months in Wimberley prior to filing deadline. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
