Casino Night raises funds for Warriors and Family Support Center

It was a perfect night, maybe a little chilly outside, but inside it was as hot as Vegas on an August day. Not only was it Valentine’s Day, but the dice were hot, the cards were making winners, and the slots, well you know how they are, hot and cold, always cold for yours truly.

But that didn’t stop the fun. Each lady, upon arrival, received a heart shaped box of Valentine’s of chocolates. That’s what was just a start to the fun. Bright pulsating lights, poker tables, and ladies all dressed up! Pinch me, I think I’m in Vegas.

The Parish Activity Center was brightly lit, Vegas style, baby, with multicolored flashing lights to add ambiance to the night. You could tell the winners by the length of their smiles. The libations flowed, chilidogs and chips added to the carnival atmosphere, best of all it was for a good cause.

The Knights of Columbus’ put on the Casino Night with all the proceeds going to the Warriors and Family Center at the Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio. There were some Wounded Warriors in attendance, who literally let out “whoops” to make the night perfect.

Everyone left with an upbeat feeling that night, with the warming thought that no matter what, they were winners that night. Wounded Warriors, thank you and your family for your service, not only on Valentine’s Day, but everyday!
