Candidate forums to be held for WISD, Woodcreek

In October the League of Women Voters of Hays County will hold nonpartisan virtual candidate forums for Wimberley ISD Board of Trustees, San Marcos City Council, Woodcreek City Council and Woodcreek Mayor. These events can be viewed in live webinars with the candidates or from recordings on the Hays County League website. No registration required; simply click on the link provided to join the webinar. The event schedule can also be accessed on the lwvhaysco.com site and the Hays League of Women Voters’ Facebook page.

During these forums, candidates will be asked questions prepared by the League of Women Voters with input gathered in advance from the community. The evening of the forum, time permitting, audience members may email additional questions to [email protected] for the candidates to answer. Please indicate the name of the forum and the word “questions” in the subject line and ensure that the questions can be posed to ALL candidates in that particular race.

All forums will begin at 7 p.m. the Wimberley ISD Board of Trustee forum will be held Oct 5 at the website https://bit.ly/WISD2021. The Woodcreek City Council forum will be held on Oct. 12 at the website https://bit.ly/Woodcreek2021. The San Marcos City Council forum will be held on October 14 at the website https://bit.ly/SMCityCouncil21

You may view completed events, recorded, within 48 hours of each forum at www.lwvhaysco.com on the Forum Recordings page (under the Resources tab).

Candidate information will be available on VOTE411.org in early October and updated as available.

As part of the LWV of Hays County mission to empower voters, the candidate forums are a valuable resource for voters to fully inform themselves before heading to the vote center. The U.S. Census reports that Hays County experienced the fastest rate of growth, adding over 83K new residents, many of which are eligible voters. The LWV encourages new Hays County voters to attend these local forums to learn of and experience the candidates vying for their votes, however, as always, all voters are urged to attend.
