Blue Hole office expansion out for bid

A project to expand the offices of Blue Hole Regional Park was approved to move forward into the bid process at last week’s Wimberley City Council meeting.

“When Blue Hole was built, the current office was meant to house one full time staff member and one part time,” Parks Director Richard Shaver said. “We are now at five full time staff members and significantly increased part time as well, so we are doing an office expansion to accommodate our growing staff and park operations.”

The proposed addition is 660 square feet that will attach to the restroom facility already connected to the main office structure. The addition will include two more office spaces and a conference room.

“Aesthetics in this park are significant, so I want ed this office to look like a seamless addition, so it will match the mid-century modern feel of the current office with the reclaimed wood on top and the limestone on the bottom. It will look exactly like the current office.”

Bids for the project are due on August 25. It is expected that the contract will be awarded in September with construction beginning in October.
