Back to School Fiesta is a big hit

Get ready teachers, parents and kids! Saturday August 10, was the first step taken for the 2019-2020 school year as it was the Barnabas Connection’s annual Back to School Fiesta. Getting kids ready with school supplies, haircuts, clothes, and much more. The only payment was a big smile.

All of Wimberley helps including the Wimberley Rotary Club, St Vincent De Paul and the Knights of Columbus of St Mary’s, St. Stephen’s, Wimberley Presbyterian, Cypress Creek, Unity, Chapel in the Hills, Crisis Bread Basket, Wimberley United Methodist, Catholic Charities of Austin, Texans in Motion, HEB, Wal-Mart, and generous individuals.

“We had 423 pre-registered, 54 walk-ins, and we anticipate 30 plus more before school. Anybody we can help, let us know,” Tracy Sommers, Executive Director said. “We had 61 wonderful volunteers which helped with 57 eye exams and 63 haircuts.”
