Aqua Texas vote imminent

The Wimberley City Council is expected to vote on whether or not to continue with the city-owned wastewater treatment facility or change course to include Aqua Texas during the Thursday, August 16 council meeting.

Wimberley Mayor Susan Jaggers held a workshop with city council members Tuesday night after the Wimberley View’s time of press. The workshop has been billed as the culmination of the mayor’s investigation into the sewer system options.

The mayor previously told the Wimberley View that the meeting would allow her to present the facts that she has found and that the council would be expected to vote on those issues at the following meeting, which will be held on August 16 at the Wimberley City Hall at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will entail much more than just the sewer system decision though. There are votes or discussion items for topics such as allowing concealed and open carry at city hall, replacing the speed bump on Las Flores, possible termination of a contract with the Visitor’s Center and potential changes to the duties of staff.
