Wimberley Valley Art League Studio Tour

Up to 200 people attended the 13th annual Studio Tour hosted by the Wimberley Valley Art League.

“It went great,” Jan Fitzhugh, Chair of the Studio Tour planning committee, said. “All the studios were really busy. We had people from all over the place. I had people at my studio that had heard about it through the inserts in the newspaper from Dripping Springs, Wimberley and San Marcos. We had people from Austin, Round Rock and San Antonio, so that was really cool.”

There were five studios opened up at the homes of local artists for a self-guided tour for the public. There were 20 artists scattered throughout the studios showcasing mediums including oil painters, acrylic painters, alcohol ink artists, photographers, jewelry and leather artists, mixed media, glass and pottery.”

“This is to give people an insight into the working process of each artist,” Fitzhugh said. “We think it makes it interesting to see where artists do their creative work, and it is a chance for the artists to talk about their work and explain their process.”

The next Wimberley Valley Art League event will be Show and Sale held on October 25 at the Wimberley Community Center, which will host 50 artists with multiple styles of mediums available for view or purchase.
