Wimberley Garden Club’s Giving Christmas

On December 11, the Wimberley Garden Club did its best imitation of Santa Claus, by making a few spaces around town a little greener, with donations to keep gardens green around town.

“The recipients are Emily Ann Theater & Gardens, KAPS (they have a great garden built and maintained by the students), Blue Hole Park (for a new wildflower bed) and Jacobs Well Community Gardens (for their plantings benefitting the Crisis Bread Basket),” Martha Barchfeld of the Garden Club said.

The donations were made possible through the Garden Club’s annual Garden Tour in the spring.

“Our purpose is to offer members educational programs on landscaping and gardening both outside and indoors. Including houseplants, shrubs, lawns, and trees. We encourage local businesses, home and land owners to keep Wimberley beautiful through our programs. Special attention is given to native plants,” according to their website.

All meetings are held at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 101 W. Spoke Hill Dr. For more information see their website at wimberleygardenclub.org
