SUMMERTIME IN WIMBERLEY

Summertime in Wimberley is a little bit different than any other time of the year, so we asked these locals what summertime means to them and for a few tips to beat the heat.

What does Summertime in Wimberley mean to you?

“Summer is hard work for me. I get to work while everybody else gets to play, but that is ok because I only have five months to make money for the whole year. It’s a lot of hard work, but I enjoy it. It is a dream come true.”

Tips to beat the heat:

“Stay in the shade or stay in the water, and lots of shave ice. We are open seven days a week from 12 to 8 p.m., so there is plenty of time to come get some.”

What does Summertime in Wimberley mean to you?

“Summer in Wimberley means Market Day and the Fourth of July Parade, the Rodeo and river time. It’s just a wonderful time in a beautiful community,” Teresa, a lifelong Wimberley resident said.

Tips to beat the heat:

“Find a river spot that is beautiful under the trees, a swimming pool, AC or a snocone,” Teresa said. Scott added “And catch a four-pound bass”

What does Summertime in Wimberley mean to you?

“Every summer since we were little kids we would come out here to Blue Hole and go swimming, so it’s the water and the calmness in Wimberley in the summer,” Dylan said.

Tips to beat the heat:

“I would say Blue Hole, you will have to get reservations, but the water and the natural beauty of Wimberley is just great. I enjoy the different breweries and wineries and enjoying time in the shade. It’s just the natural beauty.”

What does Summertime in Wimberley mean to you?

Summertime for Charlotte, at the ripe ole age of 17 months, is all about getting use to the water for the first time. Beyond that, she enjoys spending time at the Wimberley Village Library “reading” and playing with toys.

Tips to beat the heat:

Cuddle up with a good book in the A/C. Suggestions from Charlotte include “Moo, Baa, La La La!,” “Good Night Gorilla,” “Astros 101,” and anything by Sandra Boynton.
