Studio Tour another success

The Wimberley Valley Art League’s annual Studio Tour was a success.

“We had a big turnout at all of the studios,” Jan Fitzhugh, who was one of the artists on the tour, said. “The weather was perfect. It went really well. We had good crowds both days.”

The annual studio tour gives other artists and the general public an opportunity to see behind the scenes. Some come to see the artwork, others come to be inspired themselves.

“It gives you the opportunity to see a working studio,” Fitzhugh said. “We get a lot of artists because they have a dream of building a studio of their own, but we also get a chance to explain our techniques and show what tools we use. I had a sculptor show up that wanted to incorporate some of my techniques into his work and I was able to show him a few things.”

Overall, there were seven studios open to the public including Fitzhugh’s, Clare Pousson and Mark Wolter, Lilli Pell, Mary Owens, Trisha McWaters, Nancy Elliott and Celia Clowe.
