A round-the-world birding trip

It required a few years and several trips for me to visit such countries as Africa, South America and Australia.

You, however, can go to all these countries and more in 24 days, thanks to National Geographic’s round-the-world tour, set for October 3-26 of this year.

The adventure will be on a private jet, round-trip from Washington, D. C., and will cost $86,945 per person, double, or $95,640, single. That’s less than the cost of a single Rolls Royce sedan, which would set you back some $450,000.

The round-the-world odyssey will include visits to Easter Island, the Taj Mahal, Petra and the Serengeti. National Geographic experts will be on board and you’ll visit many researchers in the field, with stops including Cusco, Machu Picchu, Samoa, the Great Barrier Reef, Cambodia and Morocco.

What’s more, you will enjoy “world-class cuisine,” which I assume means more than a loaded Whataburger. Plus, on-ground accommodations will be first class.

In addition to the flight set for this October, there will be several departures in 2020, including January 8, March 26, October 1, October 26 and December 28. If interested, call 888 227-7265 and request a catalogue.

And if you go, contact me when you get back and we’ll tell folks about your around-the-world trip of a lifetime.
